A 24-year-old Guyanese man has been charged with the attempted murder of his one-year-old stepson.
Shawn Davidson was arrested and charged by police on July 24 after videos and photos of the child’s injuries went viral on social media.
Police said the alleged incident against the child occurred on July 17.

Davidson, a construction worker from the Northeast Squatting Area, appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates Court where he was not required to plead.
Magistrate Faith McGusty remanded Davidson to prison until August 12th, 2024.
