His Excellency Donya L. Francis, Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Republic of China (Taiwan), and Miguel Flemming, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Marine Resources, have been recognised with the esteemed Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award. This biennial accolade, presented in a ceremony in Taipei on 8th November, celebrates outstanding alumni who studied in Taiwan and have gone on to make significant contributions in their fields and communities.
Ambassador Francis and PS Flemming were two of eleven alumni honoured for their achievements. The Distinguished Alumni Award, a prestigious recognition by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, acknowledges alumni who have excelled in areas such as Academics, Industry and Commerce, Politics, and Humanities, or other impactful fields. Nominees are required to have completed a degree or an approved training programme from a Taiwanese institution.
