In time for the St. Kitts ad Nevis’ Carnival and Christmas, as well as the peak tourism season, American Airlines has announced the expansion of its flights to Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw (RLB) International Airport. With these additional services, the Federation’s reputation as a premier Caribbean destination has been reinforced, offering increased accessibility to the islands by travellers.
Under the new schedule, American Airlines will operate two daily flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and RLB on selected Saturdays (7th and 14th December) and daily from 19th to 31st December. The two daily flights will continue from 1st January to 3rd April 2025, with Saturday flights continuing from 5th April to 30th August. This provides many opportunities for travellers to access St. Kitts and Nevis year-round.
The Miami-St. Kitts route will utilise Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A321 aircraft, both offering comfortable seating options, including business class.
Additionally, American Airlines will continue its popular Saturday flights from St. Kitts to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City.
Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, commended the expanded schedule as a crucial step in the island’s tourism strategy.
“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with American Airlines, affirming their confidence in St. Kitts as a leading destination. This expanded schedule aligns with our strategy to increase visitor numbers and bolster our tourism economy. Enhanced airlift allows us to welcome more visitors, giving them the chance to experience St. Kitts’ unique mix of tranquillity and adventure,” she said.
José María Giraldo, Managing Director for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean at American Airlines, also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “This winter, we are pleased to enhance connectivity between St. Kitts and Miami, increasing our seasonal operation by 40% over the previous year.”
As St. Kitts anticipates a higher number of visitors this winter season, the island looks forward to showcasing its distinctive charm, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes through this expanded service.
In addition to these developments, American Airlines recently celebrated two decades of connecting St. Kitts and Nevis to the U.S. and beyond. This expanded service builds on that legacy, promoting further growth and collaboration in St. Kitts’ tourism sector.
