Labour Administration Restores Hope with Near-Completion of Conaree Football Stadium

The long-awaited Conaree Football Stadium is nearing completion, marking a pivotal achievement for the Labour government and fulfilling a promise made by Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew.

The project, initiated by the Dr. Denzil Douglas-led Labour administration in 2014, had been halted by Dr. Timothy Harris’ government, leaving the community with an incomplete facility and a 40-foot container as a makeshift changing room.

During a visit to the site on 29th November, Prime Minister Drew expressed satisfaction with the progress, commending local builder, Ellison Isaac, for his commitment to the project and community advocate Duan Ferdinand for his unwavering support.

“This project symbolises our dedication to the people of Conaree and their passion for football. I pledged to deliver a stadium, and today, I am proud to say that promise is being realised,” the Prime Minister stated.

Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins, echoed these sentiments during a walkthrough with Dr. Drew.

“This state-of-the-art facility is more than just a sports ground; it represents progress and empowerment for Conaree. Unlike empty promises of the past, the [St. Kitts Nevis Labur Party] administration is committed to tangible results that transform lives,” Minister Duggins affirmed.

The Conaree Football Stadium, once plagued by years of neglect, now stands as proof of the Labour administration’ commitment to revitalising sports infrastructure across the nation. With its completion on the horizon, the project underscores the government’s resolve to restore community pride and elevate local talent.

The stadium’s grand unveiling is set to mark a significant milestone in St. Kitts and Nevis, showcasing the Drew administration’s vision for sustainable community development and the enduring power of keeping promises.
