An autopsy performed on 16th December has concluded that Cleon ‘Bougna’ Rey’s death was not the result of foul play.
The death of the well known 51-year-old St. Johnston’s Village resident shocked the nation when he passed uddenly last week.
Rey’s body was discovered on 11th December in Bird Rock, days after he was reported missing. His death sparked concern in the community, leading to an extensive search led by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
Police efforts to locate Rey included searches in areas he was known to frequent. During their investigation, officers found his vehicle parked on Coury Hill, a short distance from where his body was later located.
Rey was discovered lying unresponsive in nearby foliage. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, prompting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Rey’s disappearance and the discovery of his body had left many in the community seeking answers with speculation about whetner criminal activity may have been involved.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force extended its gratitude to the public for their cooperation during the search and expressed condolences to Rey’s loved ones during this difficult time.
