CAL flights in & out of Toronto airport affected after closure, crash

Passengers flying with Caribbean Airlines in and out of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport are advised of delays, following an incident involving a Delta Airlines flight that flipped over upon landing at the airport earlier on Monday.

In an update, CAL said as of 5:15 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025, the following flights have been affected:

Flight BW 78

Toronto-Kingston, Jamaica: On the ground delayed due to airport closure. Awaiting clearance to depart.

Flight BW617

Toronto – Guyana – Trinidad: On the ground delayed due to airport closure. Awaiting clearance to depart.

BW 606

Trinidad – Guyana – Toronto: Airborne. En route to Toronto; estimates arrival time 9:50 pm (Toronto time).

The update comes following an incident involving a Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis that arrived at the Lester B Pearson International Airport and flipped over upon landing.

The airport said via social platform X that emergency teams were responding up to 5pm, and passengers and crew were accounted for.

TV reports said that up to eight people were injured but there was no report on the extent of injuries.
