Gabrielle Esprit is the new Miss Teen Dominica.

The fourteen year old was one of four who vied for the pageant’s title at the Windsor Park Stadium on Sunday.

Esprit, a third form student at the Convent High School, represented the Dominica Girl Guides Association at the competition. She dominated the pageant winning all but one of the categories.

Her outstanding performance won her awards for Best in Spectacular Creation and Best Spectacular Creation, Best Talent, Best in Evening Wear and Best Evening Wear and Best Response to Question.

Keanna Aaron of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School got the award for Best Promotional Speech.

In non-judged categories Kerine Royer of the St Martin Secondary School received the award for Miss Photogenic while Miss Amity went to Hannah Joseph of the Dominica Grammar School.

In the final placements for the evening:

3rd Runner-Up – Kerine Royer of St. Martin Secondary School

2nd Runner-Up – Hannah Joseph of Dominica Grammar School

1st Runner-Up – Keanna Aaron of Isaiah Thomas Secondary School

In an interview on national radio, Maxine Alleyne-Esprit, mother of the new Miss Teen Dominica expressed her elation over her daughter’s success saying how proud she was to see her daughter emerge with such confidence, a trait she claims wasn’t always there.

The new Miss Teen herself expressed joy over her win and told national radio that during her reign she hopes to inspire young girls to have confidence in themselves.

The next national pageant, the Miss Dominica Pageant is set to take place this Thursday, February 27 where five will vie for the prestigious title at the Windsor Park Stadium.
