The People’s Action Movement (PAM) has firmly rejected any association with Dr. Timothy Harris and the People’s Labour Party (PLP), with party leader Natasha Grey-Brookes making it clear that PAM has no intention of revisiting alliances or mediating political discord tied to the former Prime Minister’s leadership.
In a sharp and direct statement, Grey-Brookes said PAM “stands firm” and will not be drawn into what she called “the confusion” of PLP’s internal or external political issues. “Let PLP swim in their mess,” she stated, underscoring the lingering dissatisfaction and mistrust among PAM supporters since the collapse of the Team Unity coalition in 2022—a collapse many attribute to Harris’ divisive and self-serving leadership style.
Once hailed as a strategic alliance, Team Unity crumbled under allegations of betrayal, power hoarding, and policy disagreements. PAM, once a key pillar of the coalition, publicly withdrew support from Harris, forcing the 2022 elections years ahead of schedule, and voters dealt PLP a resounding defeat at the polls shortly after.
Three years on, PAM’s disassociation from Harris remains resolute. “It ain’t take no expert to know that the anchor of Team Unity was PAM,” Grey-Brookes said, “but it is not our job to help PLP fix its political chaos.”
Adding to the tension is a controversial Don Anderson poll that coveniently appeared to favour the PLP just days ahead of its mini-convention on 12th July. PAM has dismissed the poll as “staged” and “rigged,” echoing long-standing concerns about Anderson’s work. Critics have increasingly questioned the transparency and funding of Anderson’s marketing company, noting that poll sponsors are never disclosed, despite clear political implications in the timing and presentation of results.
Anderson’s track record in the Federation was notably discredited in 2022, when he confidently predicted a PLP resurgence—an outcome that failed to materialise. PAM views the most recent poll as another attempt by PLP supporters to manipulate public perception through manufactured momentum.
“PLP likes to use pollsters to create political fantasy,” Grey-Brookes said, warning that polls paid for by vested interests cannot replace real public sentiment. “In the absence of real national support, they rely on AI to generate phantoms of hype.”
The PAM leader noted that her party’s sole focus is on rebuilding and presenting itself as a credible leadership alternative.
With PAM drawing a definitive line between itself and Dr. Harris’ political legacy, the message is clear: the party is moving forward on its own terms, leaving behind the failed experiments of the past and those it holds responsible for them.
