Taiwanese Delivers Over Half a Million In Funding To St. Kitts and Nevis

St. Kitts and Nevis continues to benefit from financial support from the Republic of China on Taiwan. The latest disbursement provided by the Taiwanese was US$250,000, to be used for the Pinney’s Beach Sustainable Tourism Improvement Project.

The cheque was presented to Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, during a brief ceremony that was facilitated through the Ambassador to the Republic of China on Taiwan His Excellency Michael Chau-Horng Lin.

St. Kitts and Nevis continues to celebrate strong diplomatic ties with the Republic of China on Taiwan. Over the years, Taiwan has provided significant support to St. Kitts and Nevis, financially and technically, inclusive of assistance with the transitioning to green energy and climate resilient mechanisms.

Both countries have enjoyed diplomatic relations, dating almost 40 years, and the strong alliance serves as the platform for even greater cooperation in the future.

The latest financial offering underscores the close diplomatic relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of China on Taiwan.

Recently, other regional governments have declared their support for Taiwan. Of note, Guatemalan President described the relationship between his country and Taiwan as ‘unbreakable.’

Taiwan continues to underline the shared values, such as democratic rule of law, with Latin American and Caribbean countries.
