Canada has partially lifted the visa requirements imposed on nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis. The decision stemmed from sustained and meaningful discussions between the governments of Canada and St. Kitts and Nevis.
The new policy allows for Kittitians and Nevisians who have had a Canadian visa within the last ten years and those who currently have a non-immigrant US visa to travel to Canada.
The restrictions were in place since 2014.
This new decision allows for easier movement of people between the two countries.
Travellers who fall in the above bracket can now apply to the electronic travel authorization program.
Additionally, eligible travellers from Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Costa Rica, Morocco, Panama, Philippines, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Seychelles, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay can benefit from the program. First time applicants or persons who do not have a US or Canadian Visa are still required to apply for a visa to enter Canada.
