Police have confirmed the identity of the young man who was gunned down early this morning, July 4. The shooting incident left one male dead and a female nursing a gunshot wound. The victim is Garvey Rogers, of Poland, Conaree.
His age has not been released.
This latest homicide comes as the Security Forces continue to grapple with a wave of gun-related crimes in St. Kitts and Nevis.
According to the Police, the murder occurred sometime between 1: 30 and 2: 00 a.m., on Osbourne Street, Cayon.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that shortly after exiting his vehicle, Mr. Rogers and an accompanying female were fired upon by a number of armed assailants. Mr. Rogers was struck multiple times about the body. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the official Police release stated.
The female accompanying him was uninjured.
“However, further investigations revealed that the onslaught also left one (1) female to be grazed on her right thigh, while standing at a restaurant on the Cayon Main Road. She was treated at the Joseph N. France General Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department and is reported as being in stable condition,” the release concluded.
Police are continuing their investigations into this latest shooting incident.
