Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKN SOURCE) — In an exciting live announcement carried by air and TV, the Miss St. Kitts and Nevis Queen Pageant organizers have revealed the names and faces of the six remarkable contestants who will be vying for the coveted crown and title this year.
The contestants are Ry’anna Buchanan, Azariah Vanterpool, Jeymi Peets, Shavel Watson, Desanne Maynard and Desnarine Hanley.
These exceptional women were chosen from a number of applicants from different backgrounds.The pageant provides a platform for these young women to showcase their abilities, not only in terms of beauty but also in terms of intellect, social impact, and cultural appreciation.
The contestants will participate in a number of categories, including talent performances, cultural presentations, allowing them to demonstrate their poise, confidence, and ability to communicate effectively.
The winner of the Miss St. Kitts Nevis Queen Pageant will not only carry the prestigious title but will also become a role model, encouraging young women to embrace their individuality, pursue their dreams, and make a positive impact in their communities.
As the clock draws closer towards the big event, anticipation is rising, and supporters are eager to witness these young and vibrant women command the stage and leave their mark on the pageant.
Pageant Chair, Mr. Javon Liburd told SKNSOURCE that the contestant selection process was a rigorous one.
“ The contestant selection process for the pageant was a rigorous one that considered a range of areas. First and foremost, we looked for contestants who demonstrate intelligence, charisma, and a commitment to community” Liburd said.
He disclosed that this year’s pageant will focus on Diplomatic Relations.
“This year, apart from celebrating 40 years of Independence, St. Kitts and Nevis is also celebrating 40 years of Diplomatic relations with six countries – Canada, United Kingdom, USA Venezuela. Taiwan and South Korea. I believe this theme is both timely and critical in the global context, and we want the pageant to be a platform for raising awareness,” he said.
Speaking on the long term goals of the pageant Liburd said that the pageant aims to empower women to become confident leaders and advocates for positive change in the community.
“Moreover, we want the pageant to be a catalyst for positive change in St. Kitts and Nevis, inspiring young women to actively engage in community development, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship,” he added.
The pageant is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.
