SKN students in Taiwan excel in academics and as cultural ambassadors

As a cohort of Kittitian and Nevisian students ready themselves for graduation in June, other areas of excellence being achieved by these students are being recognised.

On Friday, the Association of St. Kitts and Nevis Nationals in Taiwan extended congratulations to these students ahead of their 10th June, 2024 graduation.

During two events hosted in their honour – the Taiwan Scholarship and a Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Farewell Party – the efforts of the students presently in Taiwan were recognised. Xavier Gumbs-Smith, however, was particularly commended for his diligence and performance over the four years of study.

The students are completing studies at the Ming Chuan University and Taipei City University of Science and Technology.

Other students have also performed commendably. A month earlier in April, Caniqua Elliott who attends the Ming Chuan University, earned a spot on the Dean’s List for Semester 1, 2023-2024.

Meanwhile, Javio Felix, who attends the same university, received the 2023 Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Outstanding Academic Achievement Award and was appointed as a Campus Ambassador.

Jamar Davis, who is enrolled at the Taipei City University of Science and Technology, received the 2024 Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. He was also named a Campus Ambassador.

Meantime, the Association of St. Kitts and Nevis  Nationals in Taiwan has also applauded the efforts of nationals, Teresa Dias, Chris Tyson, Rondell Williams and Tyrique Jeffers, who collaborated with students from Haiti, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Belize to organise a Caribbean Festival hosted by the Department of Tropical Agriculture Student Association at Pingtung University of Science and Technology.
