Monkey Hill resident, James Morton, who was struck by a vehicle two days ago has succumbed to his injuries.
Morton was struck on George Street in Newtown by a driver whose details have not been disclosed by The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF).
Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident and Morton was rushed to the JNF General Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Unfortunately, he died as a result of his injuries a day later on 19th June, 2024.
Morton was said to have sustained severe head injuries in the collision.
The driver was taken into custody by police at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police have not indicated whether charges were filed, or what upgrades may occur to potential charges with Morton’s passing.
The investigation into this latest, fatal traffic accident is ongoing.
