Mikyle Louis, the first Kittitian to make the West Indies Test Squad, made a hard fought 27, to top score in the West Indies’ first innings against rivals England earlier today.
The West Indies were skittled out for 121, while hosts England concluded the first day on 189 for 3.
Debutant Louis, who earlier received his West Indies cap from cricket legend Sir Vivian Richards, battled on the slow English pitch, but was outdone with a super catch by Harry Brook off the bowling of Ben Stokes.
England had earlier won the toss and sent in the West Indies to bat.
It was England’s debutant Gus Atkinson who was the star of the first day. He picked up 7 for 45, as he spearheaded his side’s ascendancy.
The West Indies will look to improve on day two to restrict England’s first innings score.
