Drew Administration’s 90-Day Crime Reduction Campaign Sets a New Standard for Community Safety in St. Kitts and Nevis

Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr. Terrance Drew, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to public safety and national growth with the ongoing, comprehensive 90-Day Campaign Against Crime and Violence.

Speaking at the Budget 2025 National Forum on 30th October, Dr. Drew outlined the government’s vision for a safer, more unified St. Kitts and Nevis, underscoring that citizen security is a foundational priority for the Federation’s future.

The prime minister highlighted that ensuring safety is essential to economic prosperity, noting, “When our citizens feel safe, they can pursue employment opportunities and contribute to national growth.”

Through this bold campaign, Dr. Drew and his team have fostered an unprecedented collaboration between government entities, law enforcement, political organisations and citizens to address crime and violence in a nonpartisan and inclusive manner.

Recognising that safety is both a right and a key driver of social and economic well-being, the campaign has taken a proactive stance to deter criminal activity. By engaging directly with citizens, government officials are gathering invaluable insights into public security concerns, which will create a platform to bridge the gap between communities and law enforcement. This community-based approach has included a diverse array of family-oriented and community activities designed to foster a culture of peace and resilience.

Dr. Drew’s leadership has been instrumental in conceptualising and implementing the campaign, which has seen strong, active participation across the Federation. The Citizen Security Secretariat was also established in August 2024 to coordinate the campaign’s efforts, integrating multiple segments of society in crime-fighting initiatives that promote long-term safety.

The campaign’s success is a testament to Dr. Drew’s commitment to sustainable citizen security and the well-being of St. Kitts and Nevis. By prioritising security and health as the foundation for a thriving society, the Drew administration has set a new benchmark for creating a peaceful, productive environment, empowering citizens to build a safer, more prosperous future for the Federation.
