SKN Welcomes BPW International Congress: A Historic Gathering Empowering Women Globally

The 31st triennial Business and Professional Women (BPW) International Congress has commenced at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, uniting over 300 delegates from 170 nations under the theme “New Actions through Cooperation.” This landmark event, running from 17th to 21st November, marks the first time the prestigious Congress is being hosted in the Caribbean, highlighting St. Kitts and Nevis as a centre for global collaboration and women’s empowerment.

Celebrating Women’s Leadership
On Monday, Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew expressed pride in the Federation’s historic achievement, stating, “St. Kitts and Nevis is currently hosting the BPW International Congress—the first Caribbean country to do so!” 

He underscored his government’s commitment to gender equality, citing the groundbreaking inclusion of three women in the Cabinet: Hon. Marsha Henderson, an elected minister, alongside Senators Dr. Joyelle Clarke and Isalean Phillip.

BPW International, established in 1930, is a global network dedicated to empowering women in business and the professions. With a presence in over 100 countries, the organisation fosters professional development, equality, and sustainable growth for women worldwide.

Engaging Programmes and Themes
The Congress agenda is designed to empower women and inspire meaningful change through a variety of activities:
