Investigation Underway Following Suspected Drowning of UK Tourist in St. Kitts

Authorities in St. Kitts are investigating a tragic suspected drowning incident that claimed the life of a British national, Jill Low.

The incident occurred on 23rd November 2024 between 2 pm. and 3 pm. near the Timothy Beach Pier in Frigate Bay.

Preliminary reports indicate that Mrs. Low was snorkelling with her husband at Shitten Bay when she was found unresponsive in the water. The St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard transported the couple to Frigate Bay, where emergency responders attempted to revive her. Unfortunately, all efforts were unsuccessful, and Mrs. Low was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has confirmed that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

The police have expressed their condolences to the Low family and all those affected by the tragedy.
