The National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis is set to convene on Thursday, 28th November, 2024, to progress its legislative agenda. Four key bills are scheduled for their second reading during the session, which will take place at the National Assembly Chambers in Basseterre from 10:00 a.m.
Samal Duggins, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Creative Economy, will present the Public Parks Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2024. This is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the management and usage of public recreational spaces.
Senator Dr. Joyelle Clarke, Minister of Sustainable Development and Climate Action, will advance the Community Beautification and Safety Bill, 2024, aimed at fostering safer and more aesthetically pleasing neighbourhoods.
Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, who also oversees Finance, National Security, and Health, will introduce two significant bills: the ASPIRE Bill, 2024, and the Advance Passenger Information and Passenger Name Record Bill, 2024. These initiatives are expected to bolster community development and enhance border security, respectively.
The session will be broadcast live on ZIZ Radio (96 FM), participating stations, TV Channel 5 in St. Kitts, and Channel 98 in Nevis. Additionally, it will stream online at www.zizonline.com.
