Secondary schools across St. Kitts have received cutting-edge videoconferencing equipment to strengthen their participation in the sister school programme with Taiwan. The initiative, spearheaded by the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis in Taiwan, aims to enhance academic, cultural, and social exchanges between students in the two nations.
Five schools—Basseterre High School, Cayon High School, Charles E. Mills Secondary School, Saddlers Secondary School, and Washington Archibald High School—are now equipped with state-of-the-art AVer A30 universal cameras. These devices will facilitate virtual meetings, educational collaboration, and other online engagements with partner schools in Taiwan.
His Excellency Donya L. Francis, St. Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to Taiwan, highlighted the programme’s benefits, calling on additional schools to get involved. “This sister school programme creates mutual benefits for learners in both countries as they can engage in academic, language, social, and cultural exchanges that will, without a doubt, broaden their horizons,” Ambassador Francis stated.
The Embassy has successfully facilitated partnerships between Basseterre High School and Taiwan’s Ger-Jyh Senior High School, as well as Charles E. Mills Secondary School and Dou-nan Senior High School. Talks are ongoing to establish connections for the remaining three schools. Ambassador Francis also extended an invitation to other secondary and primary schools in St. Kitts and Nevis to explore potential partnerships through the initiative.
The AVer A30 All-in-One camera, regarded as the world’s first multifunction camera with AI audio for classroom use, offers numerous innovative features. Its capabilities include 4K camera quality, flexible camera angles, a picture-in-picture interface, and built-in AI-enhanced audio technology. These tools are expected to enrich virtual collaboration by providing a seamless and interactive experience for students and teachers alike.
This generous contribution was made possible through partnerships with Aver Information Inc. (Taiwan) and the Global International Educational Exchanges Major Alliance (GIEEMA). The Embassy expressed gratitude for their support, emphasising the significance of these devices in fostering meaningful international educational connections.
