The St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) will officially commence celebrations for its 93rd anniversary with a special church service on Sunday, 26th January 2025. The service, which will take place at 10:00am at the Good News Baptist Church, Abattoir Way, Lime Kiln Project, Basseterre, marks the beginning of activities to honour the English speaking Caribbean’s longest-running political organisation.
As the party reflects on nearly a century of service to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, the church service offers a moment to give thanks and seek divine guidance for the journey ahead. The Labour Party, which has been a cornerstone of progress and social justice in the Federation, will use this milestone to reaffirm its commitment to the nation’s development.
Dr. Terrance Drew, leader of the SKNLP and Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, highlighted the significance of this historic milestone. “Ninety-three years of Labour is more than a celebration; it is a testament to the resilience, dedication, and vision of our party and the people we serve. As we launch our anniversary activities, we do so with gratitude to God and the unwavering support of the citizens who continue to believe in our mission to build a stronger, united nation.”
The upcoming church service is open to the public, inviting members, supporters, and well-wishers to join in reflection and celebration. It signals the start of a series of annual activities for the organisation including public meetings, the Ms. Labour Queen pageant, Labour Day Parade, National Conference and Requiem Mass.
For almost a century, the Labour Party has led transformative changes in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure, consistently advocating for the betterment of the lives of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The SKNLP has extended a warm invitation to all citizens to be part of this meaningful launch event as it embarks on another year of service and progress.
