St. Kitts and Nevis Launches Independence 42 Theme Competition

As Saint Kitts and Nevis prepares to celebrate its 42nd year of independence, the nation is calling on its citizens and residents to shape the celebrations with a powerful and inspiring theme. The Independence 42 Theme Competition is now open, offering participants the chance to craft a slogan that reflects the country’s rich history, current progress, and future aspirations.

A Unique Opportunity to Shape National Celebrations

The Saint Kitts and Nevis Independence 42 Organising Committee has officially launched the competition, inviting individuals to submit a concise, memorable phrase, clause, or short sentence of six to eight words. The winning theme will serve as a unifying slogan for the nation’s Independence 42 celebrations, capturing the essence of its journey and inspiring all citizens.

“As we celebrate 42 years of independence, it is crucial to reflect on our journey and envision the future we want to build together,” said Dr. Marcus Natta and Viera Galloway, Co-Chairs of the Organising Committee, in a joint statement. “We look forward to receiving inspiring and thought-provoking entries that will set the tone for our 42nd Independence celebrations.”

How to Participate

The competition is open to all citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis. Participants must submit their proposed theme along with their name, address, and contact number. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Sunday, 30th March, 2025.

The winner will receive a cash prize of EC$1000 and will be expected to participate in key Independence 42 activities.
