Man ambushed after card game; 11 spent shells recovered

A34-year-old construction worker was ambushed and shot multiple times outside his home in La Romaine early Sunday morning.

The victim told police that around 2:30am he had just returned to his home along Claude Street, from a card game when three masked men opened fire on him outside his residence.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his chest, thigh, stomach, and groin.

The suspects then entered two vehicles which were parked nearby and fled the scene.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the victim was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital by a friend, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Police recovered eleven spent 9mm shells at the scene and are reviewing CCTV footage.
