Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Caribbean, Linda Sobeh Ali, met with Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Dr Amery Browne, where they discussed developments in the State of Palestine and the geopolitical climate.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs said the meeting took place in the margins of the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, held in Barbados.
Minister Browne and Ambassador Sobeh Ali discussed developments in the State of Palestine and the geopolitical climate.
Dr Browne also expressed his profound sentiments regarding the Palestine situation.
The Ministry said the exchange included discussions on the furtherance of the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and the State of Palestine.
Trinidad and Tobago established diplomatic relations with the State of Palestine on September 22, 2024 – the Joint Communiqué establishing diplomatic relations was signed by Dr Browne and Dr Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, at the Permanent Mission of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations in New York.
The signing followed after Trinidad and Tobago formally recognised the State of Palestine in May 2024.
