Agri-Easter Night Market Promotes Local Produce, Small Businesses

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Marine Resources, in partnership with the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship, Cooperatives, and the Creative Economy, is set to host the Agri-Easter Night Market at the Basseterre Public Market on Wednesday, 16th April 2025. This initiative continues to promote locally grown, organic produce while fostering economic opportunities for small businesses and vendors in St. Kitts.

The Agri-Easter Night Market is more than just a marketplace—it is a vibrant community event designed to encourage the consumption of fresh, locally sourced agricultural products. Attendees will have access to a variety of fresh produce, locally prepared cuisine, and artisanal products, all in a festive Easter-themed atmosphere. To add to the excitement, the event will feature engaging competitions such as an egg hunt, an egg-eating contest, and a watermelon-eating competition. Musical entertainment will be provided by Dj Sugar Bowl, ensuring a lively and family-friendly experience for all.

This quarterly initiative, spearheaded by both ministries, underscores the government’s commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises by providing them with structured platforms to showcase their goods. The Night Market serves as an essential avenue for vendors to connect with consumers and strengthen the local food economy.

Interested vendors must register at the Public Market for a nominal fee of E.C.$10.00. The deadline for registration is Friday, 12th April 2025.
