The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis will officially launch its new Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system on 26th May, 2025, marking a transformative step toward streamlined travel and modern border security. This innovative digital initiative is set to simplify entry for visitors while reinforcing the Federation’s commitment to safety and efficiency.
Designed to modernise the travel process, the eTA system offers a fast, contactless, and secure entry pathway for international visitors. With a user-friendly mobile application, St. Kitts and Nevis e-Border, available on Android and iOS devices from the launch date, travellers can apply for and receive travel authorisation in minutes. The alternative web-based application is available at www.knatravelform.kn.
Visitors are required to present an approved eTA before departing their home country and upon arrival in St. Kitts and Nevis. The process includes filling out a secure form, submitting travel documentation, and receiving digital approval. The eTA is valid for 90 days or until the passport expires—whichever comes first.
A discounted service charge of USD $8.50 applies for applications submitted before 1st September, 2025, after which the standard rate of USD $17.00 will be enforced. The eTA can be submitted up to 90 days before travel, providing greater flexibility for planning.
Government officials hailed the launch as a major step forward in digital governance and national security. The system enables pre-arrival screening, which allows border authorities to detect potential risks in advance, improving safety for both citizens and visitors.
From 2nd June, 2025, travellers using the mobile app will benefit from Fast-Track Arrival, with access to a Facial Biometric Corridor—a contactless, high-speed immigration clearance system designed to reduce congestion and enhance traveller convenience.
The eTA system integrates a range of travel services and provides multi-language accessibility, aligning Saint Kitts and Nevis with international best practices in smart border management.
Citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as those from OECS member states, do not require an eTA, however, they must continue completing the Online Immigration and Customs ED Form, which remains free and accessible through the app or the official website.
Several categories are exempt from the eTA service charge, including:
- CARICOM nationals
- Accredited diplomats
- Children under two years
- In-transit passengers
- On-duty flight or vessel crew
- Active military and search-and-rescue personnel
The introduction of the eTA underscores Saint Kitts and Nevis’ leadership in regional digital innovation, placing the twin-island Federation among countries embracing digital border technology to improve visitor experiences, strengthen national operations, and boost tourism.
As the government looks toward future advancements, the eTA system reflects a broader vision of safe, smart, and inclusive travel—positioning Saint Kitts and Nevis as a premier destination in the Caribbean.
