A major joint search operation was conducted on Saturday, 24th May, 2025, as authorities ramped up efforts to locate Trivon Rogers, a resident of Pot Works, Nevis, who has been missing since Saturday, 17th May, 2025. Rogers is the brother of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Personnel Officer, adding a deeply personal dimension to the ongoing search.
Led by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Nevis Division, the coordinated operation brought together the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, and the Nevis Disaster Management Department. The teams worked collaboratively across the Westbury and Fountain areas, navigating rugged terrains including ghauts, caves, banks, and dense bushland in locales such as Spring Hill, Hog Valley, Shaw’s Road, and Garners.
Multiple abandoned properties were also carefully searched. The intensive efforts were not limited to law enforcement and emergency personnel; family members and friends of Rogers actively joined the search, reflecting widespread community concern and urgency.
Inspector Charles and senior officers coordinated the extensive search effort, which began at 6:21 a.m. and concluded at 11:14 am. Drone surveillance, managed by Corporal Wallace and Constable Ali, was deployed to expand visual coverage of hard-to-access areas, enhancing the reach and precision of the operation.
Concurrently, officers conducted house-to-house inquiries, appealing to residents for any information that might assist in locating Rogers. Despite the thorough search, there has been no breakthrough so far.
The Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to continue the investigation and has urged members of the public to come forward with any credible information. Anyone with knowledge of Rogers’ whereabouts is asked to contact the nearest police station immediately.
In a separate but related update, police addressed public concerns about a false missing person report involving Ivel Jr. Saint Val. Following investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department and the Immigration Department, it was confirmed that Saint Val had voluntarily left the Federation by boat, travelling to St. Thomas via St. Maarten. He was never missing.
Authorities issued a firm caution against the filing of false reports, emphasising the serious impact such actions have on law enforcement operations. These reports divert critical resources and undermine the effectiveness of police response efforts. The Police Force reminded the public that making a false report is a criminal offence, and individuals found responsible will face legal consequences.
The case of Trivon Rogers has highlighted both the strength of community mobilisation and the need for public responsibility in supporting law enforcement. The ongoing search reflects the collective determination to find answers, while the warning against misinformation underscores the vital role of honesty and accountability in maintaining public safety.
