The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has firmly refuted claims circulating online suggesting that the United States has imposed or is preparing to impose a travel ban affecting its citizens. In a statement released on 16th June, 2025, the Government confirmed that no official correspondence has been received from the U.S. Government regarding any such restrictions.
“We understand the concerns that such reports may naturally generate,” the statement read. “However, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis wishes to make it absolutely clear that no official correspondence or communication has been received… indicating the existence or impending issuance of any such travel ban or restriction that targets St. Kitts and Nevis or the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
The clarification comes in response to unverified reports shared across digital platforms, fuelling speculation that citizens of the Federation might soon face difficulty entering the United States. The reports appear to have no credible source and are not supported by any formal notification from U.S. diplomatic or consular channels.
The Government said it is actively engaging its diplomatic and international partners to investigate the origin and validity of these claims. “Although no formal notice has been issued or received, the mere circulation of such a report is concerning enough,” the statement added.
It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the mobility and international rights of citizens, both at home and abroad. “The protection of our citizens, at home and abroad, is a top priority. We are committed to maintaining strong and respectful relations with the United States and all our international partners.”
Authorities are urging the public to rely solely on verified information from official government sources. “We urge all to rely on official government channels for accurate and timely information,” the statement concluded.
