The Royal St. Christopher-Nevis Police Force has launched a full investigation into a shooting incident in Half Way Tree on the night of 18th June, 2025, which has left a 23-year-old man hospitalised with multiple gunshot wounds. The case is being treated as an attempted murder.
The victim, identified as Jelani Forde of the Harry Phipps Housing Project, was initially transported to the Pogson Hospital by private means shortly after the shooting. He was later transferred by ambulance to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
According to preliminary investigations by the Violent Crime Unit, Forde was sitting outside a friend’s home at approximately 9:10pm when he was approached by a lone, masked gunman. The attacker opened fire, and Forde, while attempting to flee, sustained gunshot wounds to both feet and his left hand.
The shooting has prompted renewed calls from law enforcement for public cooperation. The Royal St. Christopher Nevis Police Force is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Violent Crime Unit by calling 662-3468. All details provided will be handled with the strictest confidentiality.
The police continue to work actively on the case and have pledged to pursue all leads in order to bring those responsible to justice.
