CPL 2025 Squads Announced: Star Power and Regional Talent Set the Stage for a Thrilling Season

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has revealed the full team line-ups for its 2025 season following a successful player draft, confirming a mix of international stars and promising Caribbean talent. The highly anticipated tournament is set to begin on 14th August, 2025, with the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots facing off against newcomers Antigua & Barbuda Falcons at Warner Park, St. Kitts.

CPL 2025 will once again showcase the region’s cricketing excellence and international appeal. Defending champions Saint Lucia Kings have retained much of their title-winning core while making strategic additions including Micah McKenzie and Javelle Glen, both of whom add bowling depth. T20 specialists Tim David and Tabraiz Shamsi return to boost the team’s firepower.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors, led by veteran spinner Imran Tahir, have assembled a formidable unit including World Cup winner Moeen Ali, explosive Kiwi batsman Glenn Phillips, and key local performers like Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, and Gudakesh Motie. Their combination of seasoned professionals and rising stars positions them as strong contenders for the title.

Barbados Royals have built a powerful squad headlined by the dynamic duo Brandon King and Sherfane Rutherford, alongside South African star Quinton de Kock and Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai. Two overseas signings remain pending, but the Royals have already boosted their local talent pool with West Indies Breakout League standouts Zishan Motara and Kofi James. Notably, they’ve added Jayden Seales, Odean Smith, Obed McCoy, and Rahkeem Cornwall from rival franchises.

The St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, looking to reclaim former glory, have secured the high-profile signings of Jason Holder and Alick Athanaze from the Royals. They also welcome back South African power-hitter Rilee Rossouw and reliable all-rounder Corbin Bosch, alongside emerging regional names such as Jyd Goolie and Navin Bidaisee.

Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, CPL’s newest franchise, enter the 2025 season with a compelling mix of experience and youth. Bangladeshi star Shakib Al Hasan, Pakistan’s Imad Wasim, and seasoned West Indians Fabian Allen and Obed McCoy headline the squad. Promising talents like Jewel Andrew, Joshua James, and Bevon Jacobs suggest the Falcons will not be underestimated.

Fan-favourite Trinbago Knight Riders are stacked with big names such as Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Nicholas Pooran, while also welcoming back Alex Hales, Mohammad Amir, and Colin Munro. The team’s depth and experience will once again make them a team to watch.

The 2025 tournament will be hosted across five territories: St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Barbados, and Trinidad & Tobago, culminating in the final on 21st September in Guyana.

As CPL 2025 approaches, anticipation continues to build across the region and the wider cricketing world. With new talents, returning legends, and packed stadiums expected, the stage is set for another unforgettable edition of the Caribbean’s premier T20 league.
