The search for 15-year-old Janelika Romney, missing since Monday, 16th June 2025, remains ongoing as authorities and the community intensify efforts to locate the Verchilds High School student.
Janelika, a resident of New Guinea, was last seen around 3:40 p.m. on 16th June in the New Guinea area, wearing her school uniform. She is described as brown-skinned, slim-built, approximately 5 feet tall, with brown eyes and black locs.
In a demonstration of strong community solidarity, a search party led by residents was organised on Saturday, 21st June, at 6:00 a.m., starting from the New Guinea Boat Yard. Citizens from across St. Kitts and Nevis have been encouraged to join in this urgent effort to help bring Janelika home safely.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues to lead the official investigation. While Janelika’s current whereabouts remain unknown, police have interviewed several individuals, with their statements currently under thorough analysis to guide further investigative steps.
The investigation employs a multi-faceted approach, including the examination of mobile phones and the analysis of cell tower data to trace communication and movement patterns. This comprehensive strategy reflects the authorities’ commitment to exploring all leads and securing a positive resolution.
Highlighting the seriousness of the case, the police have offered a reward of EC$7,000 for information leading to Janelika’s location. The public is urged to come forward with any information, regardless of how minor it may appear.
