Police Force Launches Recruitment Drive to Strengthen Crime-Fighting Efforts

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has opened a fresh recruitment campaign to boost its ranks and enhance public safety across the federation. The recruitment initiative comes as the force seeks to expand community policing, reduce response times, and maintain a stronger presence in high-demand areas and at major national events.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Cromwell Henry, the recruitment drive is designed to “ensure the numbers are optimal within the force, to support our crime-fighting strategy and to foster stronger relationships with the community.”

The campaign places particular emphasis on attracting young people. Applications are open to men and women aged 18 to 34 who are physically fit, in good health, and demonstrate discipline and a commitment to serving the community. Candidates must hold at least four passes in general subject areas, including English and Mathematics, and will undergo rigorous assessments such as background and polygraph checks.

Beyond simply filling vacancies, the police are aiming to build a motivated team of officers dedicated to safeguarding citizens. Successful applicants can expect competitive salaries, professional development opportunities, study leave eligibility after five years, and job security. Training will be both theoretical and practical, ensuring recruits are well equipped for the demands of the job.

Application letters should be sent to forcepersonneloffice@police.kn and eartha.carey@gov.kn. Further details on training and other requirements will be communicated directly to applicants.

This latest initiative follows a pause in recruitment exercises. The previous course, which lasted six months, concluded in February 2024 with 26 graduates out of 31 approved applicants from Course #46.
