Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Entrepreneurship and Cooperatives, Sports and Creative Economy, and Parliamentary Representative for Constituency 4, Samal Duggins, has officially welcomed the 2025 cohort of his Finding Your Passion Scholarship initiative.
The scholarship, which provides youth with positive avenues for self-expression and community engagement, also celebrated a major milestones this year — 21 years since its founding and four years since its rebranding.
The newest recipients of the programme are Tayrelle Bradshaw, Jewniah Pelle, Daniqua Gilbert, and Jo’Syah Drew, who will now join a growing network of young leaders committed to using their talents to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Minister Duggins also highlighted the success of Cohort 2 graduates — Imari Liburd, Treviah James, Darnye Williams, and Najique Forde — praising their dedication, growth, and the transformative impact of mentorship under the initiative.
Reflecting on the significance of the programme, Duggins remarked, “This scholarship means so much to me. Hearing the reflections from our graduates and seeing the bright hope in the eyes of our new recipients reminds me why I started this journey in the first place. It renews my drive to keep creating opportunities, investing in our youth, and helping them reach their full potential.
“To all our scholars, past and present, congratulations, and thank you for inspiring me as much as I hope this scholarship inspires you. Together, we are inspiring dreams, empowering futures, and most importantly, helping our recipients find their passion.”
Over the years, scholarship recipients have been actively involved in initiatives such as the Creative Community Mural Project, underscoring the programme’s mission to empower youth through creativity, leadership, and civic responsibility.
According to Minister Duggins, the Finding Your Passion Scholarship remains a cornerstone of his vision to inspire dreams and empower futures by investing in the potential of young people in St. Kitts and Nevis.
