Cruise Passenger Arrivals Top 58,000 in Busy January Week

St. Kitts and Nevis recorded a strong week for cruise tourism, welcoming more than 58,000 cruise passengers during the period beginning Sunday, 18th January, 2026, reinforcing positive momentum for the 2025–2026 cruise season.

According to tourism officials, a total of 58,108 passengers arrived aboard twenty cruise vessels between Sunday, 18th January and Saturday, 24th January. The majority of ships berthed at Port Zante, while additional vessels anchored in the Basseterre Roadstead and at Carambola.

Most passengers and crew members disembarked, contributing to increased economic activity across several sectors. Taxi operators, tour providers, restaurants, craft vendors, and marine-based services all reported heightened engagement as visitors explored the island’s attractions and natural scenery.

Tourism stakeholders described the week as particularly encouraging, noting strong visitor participation and continued collaboration with cruise partners and industry stakeholders to enhance the onshore experience.

While there were no inaugural calls during the week, officials confirmed that the current cruise season is expected to include more than twenty inaugural ship visits before its conclusion, adding further value to the sector.

Tourism authorities say the steady rise in St. Kitts cruise passenger arrivals signals a positive outlook for upcoming seasons, with continued growth expected as cruise traffic remains strong into the peak winter period.
