Suspect Arrested and Charged for “OJ” murder

The Police have arrested and charged Keith Alden Kemba Godwin, whose address was given as Prickley Pear Alley, Basseterre, for the murder of popular caterer and community personality Alden “OJ” Maynard. He was charged yesterday, June 10.

Maynard was gunned down on June 6, in his vehicle, sometime before 7 a.m., along the F.T. Williams Highway.

Godwin was implicated in the murder of Raikel Conception, in 2014, in Curacao. At the time, he was listed as a resident of New Orleans, USA.

He was extradited to Curacao, from the US, in April 2015, to stand trial.

Godwin was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in the murder, in August 2015. The period he spent in pre-trial detention was deducted from the sentence.

Efforts to confirm when he returned to St. Kitts and Nevis have not been successful.

The Police have also thanked members of the public for cooperating with them in the lead-up to Godwin’s arrest.
