Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, in his capacity as Chairman of CARICOM, travelled to Dominica and Grenada on Wednesday for high-level bilateral discussions ahead of the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government, which St. Kitts and Nevis will host later this month.
Dr. Drew met separately with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of the Commonwealth of Dominica and Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada as part of a series of consultations with member states. The engagements are aimed at strengthening coordination and ensuring alignment on priority regional matters before leaders convene in Basseterre.
Discussions focused on economic resilience, climate action, regional security, sustainable development and advancing deeper Caribbean integration. The consultations form part of the CARICOM Chair’s broader effort to build consensus across the Community as it navigates ongoing global economic and geopolitical pressures.
The 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government is scheduled to take place in Basseterre from 24th to 27th February.
